The area we cover from here
Our Chatswood work covers Artarmon, Willoughby, Naremburn, Northbridge, Castlecrag, Lane Cove, Roseville, Lindfield, Killara, North Ryde and Macquarie Park.
Chatswood is one of the best connected places in Sydney. Train, metro and a large bus interchange all meet in the middle of town, which changes what is realistic for participants working on independent travel. We have capacity across the area at the moment, across all eleven services.
What we help with in Chatswood
The same eleven registration groups we hold everywhere.
A typical week in Chatswood
Most weeks are built around a few fixed points rather than a full timetable. A morning routine two or three days a week with the same worker at the same time. A couple of hours of household support. One or two outings anchored to something that already happens.
What differs here is how much of the week can be done independently with the right preparation. The Concourse, the library, Westfield and the parks at Willoughby are all reachable without a car, so supports often shift over time from doing things with someone to checking in afterwards.
Shifts are typically two hours or longer. Small regular blocks are a normal booking here rather than an inconvenience.
Supports in apartments
A large share of homes on the lower north shore are units, and that has practical consequences most provider websites ignore. Building access, visitor parking, lift availability and whether a worker can get in when you cannot come to the door all need sorting before the first shift rather than being discovered during it.
We work that out at intake and write it into the notes, so a new worker is not standing in a lobby ringing you while you are in the shower. Where a building has a concierge or a fob system, that goes in the notes too.
Apartment living also changes what household support looks like. Less outdoor work, more attention to laundry logistics, bin days and getting shopping up from the car park. Small things, but they are the difference between support that helps and support that creates a second job for you.
Travel training and independence
Chatswood is one of the better places in Sydney to work on independent travel, because the frequency of services means a missed connection is a ten minute wait rather than an hour. Trips can start very short and repeat, which is the only way that confidence actually builds.
A realistic sequence is a single stop with a worker, then the same trip with the worker meeting you at the other end, then the trip alone with a phone check in. That progression takes months rather than weeks, and it is worth planning for properly rather than attempting in one leap.
Language and culture
Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean are widely spoken across Chatswood and the surrounding suburbs. Where we cannot match a worker’s language directly, we arrange an interpreter at no cost to you, and we can send anything on this site in Easy Read or large print.
What it costs and how it gets paid
Supports are charged against your plan at or below the price limits the NDIA publishes in its Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. No registered provider may charge above them for a given support item.
We work with agency managed, plan managed and self managed plans. That changes who we invoice, not what you get. The same shift can be invoiced at different amounts depending on the day and time. There is a full explanation in how NDIS price limits work.
We are open in this area right now. All eleven services are accepting referrals. The capacity page is reviewed every Monday and carries the date, so you can check that for yourself before you ring.
