The area we cover from here

Our Merrylands work covers Guildford, Holroyd, South Granville, Granville, Yennora, Old Guildford, Pendle Hill, Girraween, Greystanes and across to Westmead and Wentworthville.

Merrylands is compact, which is an underrated advantage. Shops, the station, medical centres and the library sit close together, so a participant building confidence with getting out does not need a half day expedition to do it. Short, repeatable trips are what actually build independence, and we have capacity across the area at the moment.

A weekly trip that actually happens beats an ambitious plan that gets cancelled every second week because the logistics were never realistic.

What we help with in Merrylands

The same eleven registration groups we hold everywhere.

A typical week in Merrylands

Most weeks are built around a few fixed points rather than a full timetable. A morning routine two or three days a week with the same worker at the same time. A couple of hours of household support so the washing and the shopping do not accumulate. One or two outings anchored to something that already happens.

Because so much sits close together here, the outing part is easier than in the outer suburbs. A weekly shop at Stockland, a library visit, a regular appointment. Each is short enough to repeat rather than becoming an event that gets cancelled when the week goes badly.

Shifts are typically two hours or longer. Small regular blocks work better than large infrequent ones, because the things that make a week hard do not accumulate politely in fortnightly instalments.

Working with the household

A lot of homes in this area have several generations under one roof, and often a family member has been doing the supporting for years without calling it that. We work out early who does what already, what the family wants to keep doing, and where they actually want a hand, rather than assuming we are taking over.

Personal care is frequently the piece people want handed to someone outside the family, because it changes the relationship when a son or daughter is doing it. That is a legitimate thing to want and nobody should feel awkward asking for it.

The practical details matter more than the philosophy. Who is home during a shift. Which room the support happens in. Whether a worker should arrive before or after the school run. We write those down so every worker follows the same arrangement.

Language and culture

Arabic, Mandarin, Hindi, Tamil and Turkish are all widely spoken across the Cumberland area. If English is not the language you would rather have this conversation in, say so on the first call and we will arrange an interpreter at no cost to you. You do not need to bring a family member to translate.

Requesting a worker of a particular gender is a normal request here, especially for personal care, and it is recorded permanently rather than renegotiated with each new person.

Getting out locally

Merrylands station, Stockland, Holroyd Gardens and the aquatic centre are the usual anchors for regular community access. For participants working on travel confidence, the train line gives short repeatable trips, and Parramatta is close enough to be a realistic next step once shorter journeys are comfortable.

What it costs and how it gets paid

Supports are charged against your plan at or below the price limits the NDIA publishes in its Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits. No registered provider may charge above them for a given support item.

We work with agency managed, plan managed and self managed plans. That changes who we invoice, not what you get. The same shift can be invoiced at different amounts depending on the day and time, because weekday, evening, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday rates differ. There is a full explanation in how NDIS price limits work.

We are open in this area right now. All eleven services are accepting referrals. The capacity page is reviewed every Monday and carries the date, so you can check that for yourself before you ring.

How soon could supports start?Usually within our normal onboarding window, since we have capacity here. You will hear back from a named person within four hours on a business day.
Can supports happen after school or in the evening?Yes. Tell us the hours you actually need rather than the hours you think are available.
